Teaching School Hubs

The announcement has been made for the creation of a network of 87 Teaching School Hubs, for teacher training and development, focused around some of the best schools and multi-academy trusts in the country. It forms part of the Government recruitment and retention strategy to raise teacher quality and effectiveness.

These Hubs are to provide high-quality professional development training and support to teachers and leaders at all stages of their career, from trainee teachers as they enter the profession, to the suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) including new specialist NPQs.

Every teacher in the country will be able to access, via the hubs, expert training and development, and will receive expert advice on how best to engage with pupils, lesson planning, and classroom management

The teaching school hub programme replaces the previous network of around 750 teaching schools, which will end in August 2021. They will be funded for 3 years (subject to confirmation) and will be accessible to every school in the country. They will receive an annual grant, subject to conditions, including demonstrating progress against key performance indicators. Each hub will have its own defined area and must serve all schools within it, although this will not prevent hubs from working with schools outside their area.

Here at Derventio we are delighted to be supporting this new Teaching School Hub programme with several of our current users having been selected to be part of the network.  A series of webinars are being scheduled, not just for our current customers but for all the hubs - if you are interested in finding out more then please get in touch - stuart.reece@derventioeducation.com.

SchooliP is the perfect framework for supporting this process and over the coming weeks we will be sharing lots of advice and support.
