Monitoring with iP

As we are now in November, education organisations are focusing on monitoring classroom practices—a crucial step in driving meaningful improvement across the school. The primary goal of this process is to collect valuable information that will guide professional development and enhance teaching and learning outcomes. With iP, you have a powerful tool to streamline this monitoring process, ensuring that the data you gather is insightful and actionable. Whether through learning walks, classroom observations, or performance tracking, iP can help you manage the journey toward excellence in education.

Education News: New Ofsted Guidance

In autumn 2024, Ofsted made key changes to ungraded school inspections to streamline the process and increase collaboration with school leaders. The traditional “deep dives” have been replaced with “areas of focus,” allowing inspectors to assess subject groups, easing the workload on individual subject leaders. The process begins with an initial planning call, where inspectors and school leaders jointly determine inspection priorities. Inspectors will engage in regular dialogue with school leadership to encourage transparency and make assessments more relevant to each school’s context.

Key changes:

  • Schools will no longer be described as ‘outstanding’, ‘good’, or ‘inadequate’.
  • Replacing deep dives with ungraded inspections with key focus areas.
  • Notifying a school on Monday that it will be inspected that week.
  • Reports on ungraded inspections will assess if standards are maintained rather than giving a grade.
  • Inspection focuses on groups of subjects rather than individual subjects.

How iP helps with new Ofsted requirements:

  • Department Monitoring: iP makes it easy to monitor and track department progress, aligning with the new Ofsted approach to focus on groups of subjects rather than individual subjects.
  • Updated Ofsted SEF: Our platform now includes the latest updates to the 2024 Ofsted SEF, allowing schools to streamline self-evaluation and align with the most recent inspection standards.

With iP, schools can efficiently manage these new inspection requirements, helping leaders and staff stay prepared and focused on continuous improvement.
