Amity School Sharjah – SchooliP contribution to a positive inspection

We spoke to Samuel Thomas at Amity Sharjah School about how SchooliP contributed to a recent inspection

“The inspectors wanted to know how we are assessing the staff. So with the school IP it was easy for us to show them a report of how many teachers were outstanding, very good and good.

Inspectors were impressed on how staff were able to easily view their performance in the spider web, the web matrix.

The inspectors were keen to understand, during their one hour discussion. the school process for staff evaluation and improvement. keen to understand how the SchooliP functionality aligned to the process – appraisal target setting, monitoring teaching, line management views, areas for development, interim reviews, CPD, staff agreement and policies.”

  • Success Centralised Data: SchooliP provided a centralised platform to store and access essential documents, making it easier to provide evidence to inspectors.
  • Teacher Performance Tracking: The system enabled the school to effectively track teacher performance, including observations, CPD, and self-evaluations. This data was readily available to demonstrate the school’s commitment to professional development.
  • Clear Monitoring and Review Processes: SchooliP facilitated the implementation of clear monitoring and review processes, ensuring that staff were held accountable for their professional development and performance.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: The system provided valuable data and insights that informed decision-making at all levels of the school.

1. Centralised Evidence Management

  • Documentation of Key Evidence: SchooliP allows schools to gather and organise evidence related to teaching quality, professional development, and school improvement.
  • Audit Trail: The platform keeps an up-to-date record of school activities, including actions taken to address previous recommendations.

SchooliP significantly supports their quality assurance tasks and inspection readiness. The ability to generate reports for governors and Ofsted through comprehensive filters has been particularly beneficial. This ease of access to data and insights has reduced administrative burdens and improved the school’s ability to focus on key issues

2. Performance Management

  • Staff Appraisals: It facilitates a structured approach to appraisals, linking staff objectives to school improvement plans and priorities.
  • Objective Setting: Staff goals are aligned with the school’s strategic aims, ensuring progress toward key areas of focus identified by your latest inspection.
  • Tracking Progress: SchooliP provides real-time data on staff performance, making it easier to demonstrate improvements during an inspection.

Performance management came up as a strength in an inspection, when we get inspected pretty consistently across the board, staff will talk about how it works in the school and how that helps to drive teaching, learning and how that is a core part of how we work. 3. Alignment with Framework

  • Focus on Key Judgement Areas: The software supports schools in addressing the main areas of the inspection framework, such as quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
  • Self-Evaluation Forms (SEFs): SchooliP includes tools to help schools create and maintain SEFs, which are a vital part of demonstrating compliance with requirements.

Since implementing SchooliP, the academy has received outstanding ratings in their most recent OFSTED and SIAMS inspections. SchooliP helped streamline their performance management by replacing a paper-based system with an online one, ensuring all staff were aligned with the school’s goals and standards

  • Action Plans: Leaders can create, manage, and monitor improvement plans to address areas requiring development, linking actions to outcomes and tracking progress.
  • Data Analysis: The platform integrates data from various sources to provide insights into student performance, helping schools demonstrate the impact of interventions.

The introduction of SchooliP has allowed us to link our strategic priorities directly to our improvement activities, ensuring we are always inspection-ready and focused on key development areas.

  • Custom Reports: SchooliP generates reports that align with priorities, making it easy for leaders to present relevant information during an inspection.
  • Inspection Readiness: The ability to access comprehensive data quickly ensures schools are always prepared for an inspection.

We were recently inspected. I felt much more confident using SchooliP, and think our team felt so much more confident. I remember being in one meeting with middle leaders, so our heads of core and we were speaking about teaching and learning and the fact we were able to point to what was successful in our practice.SchooliP was able to pinpoint where we were improving because we knew our areas of weakness and were able to demonstrate that again, The leadership dashboards were just fantastic and it gave us a lot of insight not only into how we can improve our practice every single day, but how we are accountable, and we can show how accountable we are to those results.
