We spoke with Sarah Wade, Executive Principal at Amity International School Abu Dhabi about how SchooliP has impacted their school’s processes.
The Initial Implementation of SchooliP
When Sarah Wade joined Amity International School Abu Dhabi as Executive Principal, SchooliP had already been in place for a year but was not being fully utilised. As she noted:
““It was here and it looked like a program that could be well utilised, but we weren’t systematically using it in a consistent way.”
Recognising its potential, Sarah and her team aimed to integrate SchooliP more effectively into school operations.
SchooliP’s Role in Inspections
One of the most significant advantages of SchooliP has been its role in preparing for inspections. Amity Abu Dhabi recently received an Outstanding rating, and SchooliP played a key part in providing organised evidence for assessors.
“It has been a key software in helping us ensure we have the data in place for inspections.”
Looking ahead, Sarah hopes to expand SchooliP’s role in evidencing lesson planning as well as outcomes to further streamline inspection preparations.
Transforming SchooliP Usage
The current academic year has seen a complete turnaround in the way Amity Abu Dhabi engages with SchooliP. This change has been driven by structured training, strategic planning, and a focus on school priorities.
“The training that’s occurred has been incredible. The quick responses, the ability for you to guide us through the program, and just that level of accessibility has been invaluable.”
Key changes include:
- Systematic use of SchooliP for lesson planning, now available in both English and Arabic, allowing seamless translation through Google Translate.
- Streamlined tracking of CPD hours, ensuring all staff meet the 75-hour training requirement with minimal administrative burden.
- Alignment of individual, departmental, and whole-school goals with Amity’s strategic priorities, ensuring all staff work toward a shared vision.
Implementation at Amity International School Amsterdam
Unlike Abu Dhabi, Amity Amsterdam introduced SchooliP from the outset. While Sarah has been less directly involved in its implementation there, she sees great potential in using SchooliP to connect data across multiple campuses.
“As a larger school group, how we can refer to data across different schools and utilise that to help us is crucial.”
She is particularly interested in the potential of SchooliP’s Trust Dashboard, which would allow school leaders to track progress, appraisals, CPD, and inspections across multiple sites.
Next Steps and Future Plans
With staff at Abu Dhabi now fully engaged in using SchooliP, Sarah’s next priority is extending its use to non-teaching staff.
“How can I use it well for my office staff? Their role is very different, so we need to create evaluations and appraisals that align with their jobs.”
Additionally, discussions are ongoing about expanding SchooliP’s use across more Amity schools in the Middle East
Final Thoughts
Sarah Wade describes SchooliP as an essential tool rather than just an add-on:
“I don’t see it as a bolt-on for our school. I see it now as an essential platform to enable us to work effectively and efficiently.”
She emphasises that while many platforms promise to transform school management, SchooliP has delivered on its promises:
“You get this plethora of platforms bombarding you with promises, but SchooliP has actually delivered.”
Conclusion
The transformation of SchooliP’s role at Amity International School Abu Dhabi serves as a testament to its impact when fully embraced. With its structured approach to school priorities, CPD tracking, and inspection readiness, SchooliP has become an indispensable tool. The next phase of development will see its adoption among office staff and its potential expansion across the wider Amity network, further reinforcing its value as a comprehensive school improvement solution.
