How do I add key stages?

Overview

Key stages are groupings that can be assigned to staff members to show the year groups that they teach.

Follow these steps to access your key stages:

Note that if the Settings menu is not visible, this means that rights have not been given to see that area. If this is a mistake please contact your administrator.

Adding a New Key Stage
  • At the bottom of the list click Add Item
  • Fill in the Name field with the name of your new key stage, this can be seen by all staff in your system
  • Fill in the Description field as a short description of your key stage

Note: IP comes with preset Key Stages ranging from EYFS to Key Stage 5. These cannot be removed, but by clicking any Key Stage without an Edit Pencil next to it you can disable it - which will turn the item red in the list and make it unusable in the rest of your system. It can be re-enabled by clicking it again.

Editing an Existing Key Stage
  • To edit an existing key stage, click the Edit Pencil next to its name in the list
  • From here you can edit the Name and Description of the item.
  • You can also click Delete to permanently remove it from your system.
