Derventio Education is proud to announce the launch of NurseryiP, a new platform developed specifically for nursery settings that brings together self-evaluation, improvement planning and professional development in one connected system.
Created in partnership with Kara Kiernan Consultancy, NurseryiP has been designed to address a challenge faced by nursery leaders around the world: improvement activities are often fragmented across multiple systems, making it difficult to connect reflection, action and professional growth.
At the heart of NurseryiP is a simple belief: meaningful improvement starts with honest self-evaluation.
Rather than treating self-evaluation as a compliance exercise, the platform helps leaders develop a genuine understanding of their setting's strengths, priorities and opportunities for growth. From there, NurseryiP creates a direct link between evaluation findings, improvement planning and professional development activities, ensuring that every action taken contributes to a wider improvement journey.
The platform has been developed in collaboration with Kara Kiernan, whose 17 years of leadership experience spans nursery, school and international education settings, including senior roles with Nord Anglia Education, Cognita and Kings' Schools Dubai.
Drawing on extensive conversations with practitioners and leaders across the sector, NurseryiP has been shaped by the real challenges faced by nursery teams today.
Rather than imposing a top-down approach, the platform has been designed to support reflective practice, empowering leaders and practitioners to take ownership of their improvement journey.
NurseryiP brings together several critical elements of effective nursery leadership:
Self-evaluation and reflection as the starting point for improvement
Dynamic improvement planning linked directly to evaluation outcomes
Professional development aligned with identified priorities
Individual professional portfolios that evidence growth over time
Flexible framework support, including the KHDA ECCE framework and other regional requirements
By connecting these elements within a single platform, NurseryiP helps settings create a continuous cycle of improvement rather than a series of disconnected activities.
Importantly, the platform is designed to complement existing systems and processes rather than replace them. NurseryiP sits alongside other platforms already used by settings, filling a gap that many nursery leaders have identified between evaluation, improvement and professional learning.
NurseryiP is launching initially across the UAE and wider GCC region, with implementation support provided directly by Kara Kiernan Consultancy.
This collaborative approach will ensure the platform continues to evolve in response to the needs of practitioners, creating a product shaped by those who use it every day.
The launch also represents an important step in Derventio Education's wider mission to support continuous improvement across education sectors through practical, evidence-informed technology solutions.
Commenting on the launch, Stuart Reece, CEO of Derventio Education, said:
"We've spent many years helping schools bring improvement planning, professional development and self-evaluation together. Working with Kara has given us the opportunity to apply those same principles to the early years sector, supported by someone with exceptional experience and credibility. We're excited to learn alongside the nursery leaders we work with."
To celebrate the launch of NurseryiP, Derventio Education and Kara Kiernan Consultancy will host an online launch session featuring a live demonstration of the platform and a discussion around quality improvement in early years settings.
The session will take place on 17 June 2026 and is open to nursery leaders and practitioners across the UAE, GCC and beyond.
Nursery groups in the UK can also register their interest ahead of the platform's UK launch planned for September 2026.
