The Association of University Legal Practitioners (AULP) is the association for in-house lawyers working in Higher Education.
AULP supports its members to help the sector operate effectively through an increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscape, identifying and managing risks across the whole range of legal issues Higher Education Institutions face. AULP also creates professional development and career progression opportunities for its members – helping the sector’s lawyers to be the best they can be.
Their members are drawn from in-house teams across Great Britain and Ireland, who wish to share their knowledge and experience to tackle common challenges arising in the Higher Education sector. Working together, we aim to help shape sector-wide responses to emerging issues, provide a safe environment to share technical legal and strategic challenges, and offer peer to peer support for legal teams of all sizes.
Celsus incorporates an events calendar, a member discussion area and the facility to share key documents. This allows members to continually learn and seek out new knowledge and understanding. Operational best practice can be shared and discussed with ease which helps to influence the future direction of Higher Education. The platform is a network for ideas and we are delighted that Celsus enables AULP members to engage effectively with each other.
With in-built modules for event management, forums, news and a member login area, the website helps ensure the AULP team can function as effectively as similar organisations with greater staff resources. The AULP team are also able to rely on the Derventio Education support team to help with any queries or issue they have.
AULP is a member of PHES (Professional Higher Education Services) which is an umbrella company for membership organisations in Higher Education. Celsus is also used by other PHES members, AUDE (Association of University Directors of Estates), BUFDG (British Universities Finance Directors Group) and UHR (Universities Human Resources). This illustrates the adaptable nature of Celsus and we are proud to work within the Higher Education sector.
