SchooliP’s integrated approach to performance management has benefitted a village primary school in Staffordshire. Cohesion between the self-evaluation form, school improvement plan, performance management and continual professional development is being enjoyed at Winshill Village Primary School.
The school is part of the John Taylor multi-academy trust (JTMAT) and is home to 200 pupils. SchooliP is used throughout the trust and on joining JTMAT, staff at Winshill received immediate SchooliP training. Previously, appraisals and professional development were managed on paper and through email correspondence.
Headteacher, Andrea Goodson informed us that she has been very impressed with SchooliP.
It is easy to connect our performance management with our self-evaluation form and school improvement plan. All members of staff can keep track of their own CPD and I enjoy a complete overview.
We asked how staff have received the introduction of SchooliP.
Brilliantly, they love it! There were a couple of glitches at the beginning, but these have now been sorted. There are now closer links between our self-evaluation form, school improvement plan, performance management and CPD. This has had a positive impact on school improvement.
Andrea identified that the success of SchooliP is attributed to a clear success criterion where staff are regularly reminded of the system during internal CPD sessions and staff meetings. All performance management reviews link to the teachers’ standards and CPD programme.
Lastly, Andrea told us what she would say to another school if they were considering SchooliP.
If you want a simple, paperless system that links all your performance management aspects together, I would highly recommend SchooliP. It is very easy to use and once you have set up the account for each member of staff, it is accessible and useful for everyone. It is an easy and efficient way to ensure that school improvement is central to performance management.
